Re: DO PEOPLE TRY NICK YOUR E30?
My iS was the subject of attempted tea-leavery when I live in Hyde Park (scrotey area of Leeds). Fortunately the pikey cunts were particulary inept and only suceeded in damaging the lock a bit. Still got myself a Clifford though. Cost a few quid but remote central locking is nice and the flashing bl...

Only a paltry 23k in 4 years. That includes 8 months off though when I crashed it into a fence. You'd think having to drive a Cavalier would have made me repair it a bit quicker.

There's a bmw scrappy off Canal Road between Kirkstall and Armley. Not been for a while but I suspect they'll have an e30 or two.
There's a bodyshop in Stanningley behind BMWCare. Not sure what's its called sorry. They do stuff for JCT600. I was very pleased with the standard of work.

Anyway, why don't you want a red 318iS? They go a lovely shade of pink given a few sunny days

Re:
I'm still interested to know what cars have 3x the drag coefficient of an e30. F1 Sure, an F1 car with a Monaco aero set up. I think the implication in Shakey's post was there are road cars with 3x the drag by 1.5x the downforce. NB I'm not saying an e30 creates any downforce, that was Shakey. Ther...

If you do the maths which can be found in most books on Fluid Dymanics and Auto Aerodynamics will explain the maths then its simply a case of converting the figures into mass to weight of your desired imperial or metric fancy. Its not a claim its fact. So its a fact that a "fast car travelling fast...

Re:
Overall shape of the body in terms of drag, i know of few cars with 3 or more times the drag c/o of an E30 but they also generate 1.5x more down force at speed Pray tell what are these cars you speak of? ...a fast car will be travelling fast enough generating its own downforce. For example a 12st m...

Re: 318is toy - what are the best basic mods to start with?
If you can stretch to it try and lower it a bit for track work. I found the standard setup far too rolly. Second hand stuff is okay. Like others have said though your first port of call should be brake pads (standard discs are fine), replace the fluid, make sure its on 15 inch wheels, get some decen...

A 1.1 mk3 fiesta classic special edition (ie the new shape was just about to come out so the stuck a classic badge on all the old ones they hadn't shifted yet). It was great. The sort of car that teaches you all about carrying speed through corners because there was no acceleration to speak of. Brak...

There was a load of these in the magazines of the day when E30 first hit the roads. IIRC, they first did them for E21. For the life of me, I can't remember who the perpetrators were - was one (or more) of the aftermarket bodykit manufacturers. They were shite then and my opinion hasn't changed. Sor...

It would make a great car for the scumball or similar. The puke inducing paintjob wouldn't be quite so bad all stickered up.

6 pots don't sound as good as 4 pots... You canot be serious! My thoughts exactly :) Its either a typo or he's been at bigun's stash. No way an m42 sounds better than the straight six. If it were all about engine noise though we'd all be driving alfa's and debating the merits of the v6 versus the f...

You've a point about the noise. The six pot burble is lurvly. An unrattly m42 sounds ok at full chat though. Finding an unrattly one it the tricky bit.

Re: What is so good about these 318is's
Nice engine. Not the most powerful and certainly lacking in low down torque but loves to rev and if you keep it in the sweet spot it goes pretty well. Overtaking has to be done in an appropriate gear. You have to change gear alot in this car but its a decent shift mechanism. Handling. In standard fo...

It may well have a cat. IIRC it was a cost option. Why anyone would pay extra for one is beyond me but people did. The original owner of mine for one. Maybe there were tax perks to be had?

Not really no Falkster. I quite like the standard mtech 1 look. Maybe some neons and 19 inch rims though...

Where can I get one of these spoilers?
Evening all. Just got back from a gumball style event to Spain in a mate's Alfa 75. My iS was having well earned rest. On the return journey we ran into this hungarian bloke with a rather tatty 318iS upon which was mounted a jumbo jet's tail fin. Just thought I'd share. http://img468.imageshack.us/i...
