E30 Zone

the 3rd wire was already attached to the coil before i changed the coil so i think it coudl be from the clifford alarm? shall i try 2 remove that wire and start it?

Its an E reg BMW 320i Convertible, im not sure why there is a 3rd wire on the coil i believe it may be the immobilisier or the clifford alarm wire attached aswell but not sure?!? the 3rd wire is with the green wire going to the positive terminal so there are 3 attachments in total on the iginition c...

BECUZ I CHANGED THE IGNITION COIL THATS WHY THEY WERE DISCONNECTED , ITS NOT THE IMMOBILISER IVE HAD cLIFFORD SPECIALIST CUM AND TAKE A LOOK EVERYTHING IS IN WORKING ORDER AND WAS TOLD MY MECHANICS TOO LAZY RATHER THAN LOOKING FOR PROBLEM HE JUS SENDS ME TO CALL ALARM PEOPLE...SO I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT...

i done that and no light comes on when i turn the engine.???? Also im bit confused on which way the ignition coil wires are attached , as i got 3 wires in total to attach not sure which side goes to which whether postive or negative, does anybody have a pic of it so i can see how it should look??

Ive checked the wires for the crank and the sensor itself but no sign of damage or dirt.cleaned it any way btu still wont start?!?!

ok, but then why wud i take yo advice if ive had over 30 peopel say that same fing 2 me abotu adjusting ecu cuz of new AFM??? not sayin it in rude way just want to know wat experience u have of that??

How do i adjust the ECU to the AFM settings?? because alot of people have said the same thing? or do i have to go to a mechanics or bmw specialist for that?

See thats i did before, i change dmy crankshaft sensor and air filter drove it for a day at least 15 miles to check just in case took it on motorway etc and it was fine, the very next day it started doing ti again jerkign all over the place, i will try the ICV clean up if that dont work then Davebur...

ok but where is the ICV located?? this first time ive owned a bmw e30 so not to sure on where the bits are..been lookign for an onlien diagram of the bmw engien with points on wat is wat and hwo to remove etc but had no luck??!?!

Well to best describe it then idle of the car jumps up and then drops all the way to 0 revs n judders as if it abotu to cut out and then quickly races back upto 1000revs n den goes to 500 revs n stays there until i press the accelerator again and will do same again...thats if station if drivign it w...

it cuts out like out of 10 times ide say cuts out 7 time sout of 10 in a day...well it just drives n then jerks really violently n then jus cuts out (dies) and then i have to park to side and re-start the car ...it happens alot if i put my foot down on the accelerator?!?!

Hi there just wanted to know if there is something called a ' EXHAUST SOLENOID' on bmw e30 320i convertible cars??? and also can it affect the driving as in can it possibly make the car cut out or make it jerk during driving?
Final question how does the exhaust solenoid work if there is such a thing?
