These expensive boutique waxes don't offer much in the way of protection, it's more bling. But something like vics red will also be outstanding on a black car for a fraction of the cost If you want to protect your nice new paint job, I'd look into protecting it with a synthetic sealant. ^^ this no nonsense paint protection, if your happy with the finish then leave it and don't polish it any more if not a finishing polish and pad may improve the gloss, just bear in mind that you are removing paint colour.

Are you sure that it's rubbing on the fuel tank and not the metal tray that is under the prop that may be pushed up at the end causing the noise that you mention?

I have a ultra racing front strut brace on my e30 it does what it's suppose to do, and
the whole size was no issue, you may need to jack up one side of the car to get it on tho

The steering rack from a e46ti compact has a better ratio over the standard e46, this would be my choice.

I'm a big fan of collinite wax's. makes me laugh that a wax as cheap as collinite holds the crown for durability over more pricey wax's.
another good combo is from wolfs chemicals, shine and seal topped with hard body very durable and looks awesome.

Re-paint in the same colour or have the paintwork machine polished to restoe/enhance the lustre.

I have had a quick look at some classifieds, i never realised the m3's where commanding such prices these day's

theres me thinking that the classic car market was going down hill
