Recomendations for fabrication/welding - North Herts

Hi, It's been a long time since posting on this forum, very pleased to see it's still going.. I've dragged my car out of the garage and dusted off my username... I have car that needs sills and jacking points, along with some fab work on the boot well area.. Perhaps a couple of other minor areas too...

Re: Brake lines and MOT failure.....

Does anyone know if the computerised system for MOT's will show that I have been listed for excessive corrosion on my brake lines at another MOT testing station?

I am thinking about just going somewhere esle after a clean up now after what Brian has said.

Brake lines and MOT failure.....

Good day all, My 325iT has been sitting for 18 months, but I just recently dusted her off and put her through an MOT. Felt great to be behind the wheel again, silky smooth six pulls beutifully  I have a load of trivial items, bulbs, headlight aim etc. but also corroded brake lines. :? All thre...

Logical progression.... for me anyhow....... I got this 540i touring with 160k miles for Ԛ£2000........... 17 to the gallon.... ....although I have to agree that the leg room in the back is no better than that of an e30. Other than that it is supremely comfortable, reliable, spacious and ...

Sounds like a siezed wiper shaft, possibly a dodgy electrical contact though.

Check the link out for servicing tips

Real easy.... You'll need the window motor mechanisms and the wiring looms from both rear doors. these unplug just inside the pillar, there is a nice little access panel where your front seat belts go down into the trim. Then you need all the switches including the isolator for the rears. Optional p...

It's not on any of the insurance companies computer systems.

It's a "Computer say's no" situation.

I think this one came from the channel islands.... hence RHD.

I've got one, I've got one!!! This is my 324d. It's not very fast but it's quite smooth. It's a right pain to insure though... . http://photos.fotango.com/p/eba00443172f00000008.jpg http://photos.fotango.com/p/eba00443172f00000009.jpg http://photos.fotango.com/p/eba00443172f00000005.jpg It's got 15"...

I'm now thinking about dropping a 320 'Zone Chip' into the 325 ECU..... Does anyone know anything about the differences between the ECU's and whether this would be just as good as using a proper 320i ECU....? The ECU that was in the 320 originally was a '381' whereas the 325 one i swapped it with is...

325i ecu in 320i

I don't really want to admit to this in public but I broke the ECU on my friends 320i last night by shorting out the wrong pins to reset the service lights.... :hammer: :bolt: Fortunately I had a spare ECU kicking about but it was from a 325i. The car runs, but is any one aware of any problems that ...

Yes, wiring is already there for the two (front) back window switches. I assume this is the same for all 4 door models as Brian says. I have not checked this out but I assuume there will also be wiring in place for the isolator swith aswell. I pulled out the looms from the rear doors whilst removing...
