Are there many E30 with M5 engines going about? I know of only 1 other locally.

I presume there are people that have done the M88/3 or S38 conversion? Does anyone know how many of those are out there?

Well took off the wheels and I couldn't find what you described, when I looked through the bolts there was nothing there that I could use a screwdriver to adjust, what should I have been looking for? I had a go with the sensor but no matter what I jiggled it wouldn't go off. Nevermind I'll let...

Two small problems? Any idea's?
I have two small problems with my iS.
1) The brake pad warning light comes on intermittently?
2) The handbrake sometimes doesn't pull up on one side?
Does anyone know if these are MOT failures?
Thanks.

Here's my old M5 just before I sold it. Great car and only really got going at over 100mph (on the track obviously!) upto 100 the car did feel a bit sluggish but it is a big car. The thing is that when others, including the M535i were slowing down at 100+ the M5 just kept on pushing. http://www.sich...

Diff
Right so lower number equals lower RPM per gear is that right? Therefore the gearing will be far too tall?

M3 LSD on a 318iS???
Whats the standard LSD diff gearing for a 318iS? I'm looking at getting an M3 diff which is 3.25 but wanted to know if this is correct.
Cheers.

No reversing lights - all of a sudden
I've just taken my car to Slow Fit for the replacement of the bracket that links the gearbox and exhaust system on my 318iS (can't complain as they did it for free) but now I've lost my reversing lights, highly coincidental. I believe there is a switch on the gearbox that puts the lights on when you...

Chips anyone?
I've heard a lot about the Viper2 chip and superchip etc. What actual difference do they make in real life to a 318iS and which is the best to go for?
Jim.

Rattle????
Well, another question for your guru's. I've just done the oil pressure switch - no light now! I've also just done the tensioner, major rattle gone. Now I've got another rattle which I appear to only get on a trailing throttle, it sounds like something light and metallic vibrating, and ideas? Also I...

Chips anyone?
Not to hi-jack the thread but is the Viper chip any good? Can someone explain to me what they are like in real life and benefits.
Cheers,
Jim.

318iS oil pressure switch
Can someone point me at an article on how to change this or let me know where it's located on the iS. The problem is that the warning light is coming on when the car has warmed up, now I've had a couple of E30's before and they seem to eat these pressure switches so I've bought a new one, but now fo...

Is the engine bay sparkly clean? If so suspect water ingress after some over ethusiastic jet/pressure/steam washing. I'm suffering from the same problem at the moment, it's gonna be a strip it down and dry it job plus some liberal application of a WD40. Hope this helps, if you get any more info on y...
