Re: Strange light issue
Thanks for the replies, I presume you mean the black cap that fits to the rear of the headlight assembly? And the plug connector on the loom? Are these parts available new? I had a look at realoem but it doesn't look like they're available separately. I suppose a decent second hand headlight will so...

Re: Wet passenger carpet
The scuttle drain is also known as the elephant trunk it's on the engine bulkhead below where the wipers sit if it's blocked the whole scuttle will fill up with water and eventually end up in the car. The elephant trunk is just to the right of centre on the drivers side of the car if I remember corr...

If you can find a non sunroof headlining then don't bother even thinking about it,the sunroof is a crap design and can cause no end of issues plus the extra weight from all the bits and bobs.....ask most on here and they would probably agree that a non sunroof car is more desirable.

Check for spark 2.check for fuel at the engine 3.has this just happened or has it been getting harder to start for a while? Brian is your man but he will need more information...good luck ...

Re: Bit of advice on recent bodywork
To be honest finding someone who can weld to a decent standard who is willing to do the work is the biggest challenge in any restoration.... most garages don't want to weld and those that do generally don't do it to a very good standard....if you can learn to do it yourself then great but a decent w...

That's what I thought but the car just would not start it felt like it wanted to go but just wouldn't..... also cranking with a fuel pipe disconnected produced no fuel to engine..... like I said I bridged the pins and left the fuel line disconnected and an audible rush of air came out followed by fu...

Thanks guys I'll try and do these suggestions asap
Today I changed the fuel filter just because it's cheap and easy whilst it was disconnected I cranked the engine and got fuel into a container, short crank = about 30ml of fuel?

Re: Fuel pump replacement
link together pins 30 and 87 with a short length of wire. You should easily hear the fuel pump whirring away under the rear seat of your E30. If you can, then you should ensure that power is reaching pins 85 and 86 of the fuel pump relay socket, by using a 12V 5W bulb. If power is present, then expe...

Then obviously supply fuel as you turn the key to the crank position? My pump does not operate in any key position including cranking.... yet with the fuel pu...
