Re: how to tell the diffrence

im not really sure about this one, but i have heard it from someone. the difference is when you actually turn that's when it behaves differently with a proper lsd. a proper one it would unlock the other tire relative to which way you are heading. as for the welded ones, both wheels spin whether it's...

if replacing the batteries in your SI board won't help, i understand there's a by[ass and direct line to your alternator for your rev counter. it's the one that has a flat socket.

reasonably fast :D if it does click when you're turning, it could be possible that you have a bad steering column.

if that won't fix it, try changing the stab link bushing.
do you feel anything coming from the steering wheel? does it click when you're turning fast?

i remember a buddy who had the same problem. checked everything, changed everything but no luck. what we did was we exchanged the fuel pump relay with the head light relay (they're about the same) then alas! it started! your problem might be a shot relay. worth checking them out :D

I have a 1989 320i. my car battery had been discharged twice. i have had my alternator checked and the mechanic told me that the culprit is the battery for my alternator is working fine and hits 12 on the meter (pretty low) still, it's charging. however, once i hit on the lights and airco...

probably needs a tune-up. does the car hestitate when you pound it? check your plugs, filters and other mechanical parts. the 320's are not known to produce great power, it usually kicks in on the top end, around 4k-6.5k. goodluck!
