Re:

Yeah that would be ideal. Depends (loosely) on the type of thing that you use.

What does this flap do then control exhaust/inlet gas flow between the two turbos?

And what sort of device are you planning to use to move it?

Good thanks mate, and yourself? I just think your projects brill, so would very much like to see the finished results...and as for effort....well I think you've won that round! I've got a pretty good idea....find a real engine for your e30, and do the right thing, and then think about selling me the engine, so that I can get on with my current theroetical project, and put it in a metro!

Re:

Think this may have already been covered, but if not then you may be able to work out the range of rates you need for the PWM and then choose the size of capacitor that you need, and then use the size of the variable resistor to change the frequency of the circuit. Using a 555 Astable f=1.44(R2/R1+2...

fozzymonster, does the bonnet close with that stonking great snail in there? I presume not. But if so, are you allowed the exhaust housing sticking out of the bonnet...I would presume not because it gets very hot!

Does anyone actually know if it is allowed? In MOT etc. relations

Re: M40 manifold

yeah that looks basically ideal, other than i want it to be top mount. Although I suppose that design of the manifold could quite easily be adapted to be made top mount. whilst we're on the subject, what has everyone done for oil lines, return isnt a problem, just TIG weld a little pipe into the sum...

M40 manifold

Do any of you guys that have had turbo conversions done know much about the manifolds that you have had built? I need a set of flanges that bolt to the head on the exhaust manifold side, and I can't seem to find them any where. Might end up getting the, CNC'd at this rate. If anyone has information ...

M40 head

Just got around to dismantling a spare M40 head I have for a rebuild. Taken the first inlet valve (closest to the timing end) out, and it was an absolute pr1ck to get out. Pulled the colletts out, and the retainer off of the top, and it has two valve springs (one inside the other). Is that standard ...

Re: m20 2.5 turbo intercooler pipes?

the neatest, and probably easiest way, would be to work out exactly where you want the pipes to go, and from that what bends and straight sections you need, and just buy all of the seperate bits from someone like Samco or SFS hoses. Alternatively you would work out the route, and then get the pipes ...

Legality of Highbeam removal.

I fitted an open cone filter to my 318i about three days ago, and it made it p1ss slow...so i decided that out of a paint tin, and some form of washing machiene/tumble dryer bracket i would custom make my own enclosed filter. Looks pretty tidy, works pretty well...but after thinking about it again.....
