Re: buying porter cable.

Hi Mate - Last I heard the UDM was going to retail at just the right side of 100 quid, including a backing plate, and some sort of bag if I remember correctly! Porter Cables are a bit hit and miss: some say they have them delivered with the value marked at $5, so very little VAT and duty, others say...

Re: buying porter cable.

At the moment you're best off getting the Porter Cable from Autopia in the States. The UDM (240V Clone) is delayed further and further it seems due to a combination of CE mark problems and a vibration problem. We are going to be stocking the YDM when it eventually is released but won't do it until w...

Re: Hartge Split Rims?

Hi Mate, having been through all this myself recently I might be able to help. First thing to say it post a shot of the nuts on the other side of the rim! My BBS Style5s are two-piece rims and have a normal hex-nut on the back of all 34 bolts per wheel. Once you have the nuts off you need to very ca...

Re: Mans best friend, my arse

Try use selotape or better parcel tape (the brown stuff) and 'drag' it around in DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, the hairs will be 'inserted in every direction imaginable and you need to pull them out in the opposite direction they went in!

Hope that helps - Nick

Re: black convertible roof!! GONE SLIGHTLY WHITE

We sell that range - The three main products are the cleaner, the re-colourant, and the water-proofer. The cleaner works in a very similar way to 303 Aerospace cleaner (which we also sell!!) and thus is similarly effective, the water proofer works in a similar way to 303 High-Tech fabric Guard (Whic...

Re: Porter cable for glass

Hi Mate. I have tried using automotive paint polishes on glass with the pc and a 3" compounding pad. I had limited success!! I re-tried with a diamond polish (like used to polish gem stones) which has actually polycrystalline diamonds in it and the results were far better... The polish is about £2...

You will leave swirls/marring/holograms when you remove sanding marks; You need AT LEAST two polishing stages to get a perfect finish after wet sanding in my opinion. The general rule of thumb for me is: The more efficient the defect removal - the poorer the quality of the finish. If you P2000 a def...

Re: tackling bird crap

Be careful here - the stains that you speak of are likely to be damaged clearcoat/topcoat caused by the acid in the bird crap. I tried polishing out even with a machine to remove the damaged paint - It needed wet-sanding to remove completely and polishing back from there....

Re: recommended polish

Carnauba wax does very little to protect from UV damage, which is what causes the hazing of paintwork you are referring to. Zaino has real UV protection built in and 303 aerospace protectant is designed purely for UV protection. Carnauba waxes look lovely but don't last. However 303 followed by your...

Hi Sam

Zaino sealants imho are the best for durability and results... After the sealant you don't really need anything but a bottle of Z6 or Z8 for inbetween coats of sealent and as the final stage is recommended by Sal Zaino

pm me to find out where to get it from....

All the best
