Re: Manchester area Tach and OBC fixed for £100?
O.K I don't think it's the head unit. Had it taken out, wiring was done via a block connector and nice and neat. I've been recommended an auto electrician by the guy who installed the stereo, I'll get him to check out the diff wiring?

Re: Manchester area Tach and OBC fixed for £100?
Hi Tash, no I haven't tried the chip. The guy who installed my stereo is going to look at it tomorrow. If its not that then I'll explore the diff wire next

Re: Manchester area Tach and OBC fixed for £100?
It has and I'm now wondering if that's the cause as I now remember that everything was working fine before that. Is there anything I can do to check/remedy?

Manchester area Tach and OBC fixed for £100?
I have a non-working tach that is in all honesty getting me a bit depressed. I've trawled through the search articles on here to no avail. I basically need it working and have taken it to a couple of auto-electricians, who were non BMW and didn't really have a clue. Would anyone be able to sort it f...

Instrument gauge advice
I had a series 1 325i engine and loom, towards the end the tachometer stopped working. I then had a 1.3 motronic loom attached. After doing a bit of research it seems like the SI board is playing up and I'm going to source a good replacement. My questions are... 1) do I need an instrument cluster fr...

Good samaritan auto electrician in the North West?
Hoping there would be a helpful zoner who could sort a couple of things for me, seeing as I have no auto electrical knowledge myself. I have an E21 with a 2.5 from an E30 and recently converted to Motronic 1.3 1) Before the conversion, the tacho started working intermittently. Then stopped altogethe...

Rev Counter not working on 'E30' 325i Motronic 1.3
A little bit of a strange setup, but bear with me. I have an E21 with full E30 motronic wiring from a series 1 325i. The instrument cluster is from an 87 325i and its Rev Counter stopped working one day (although it did start working again intermittently for a while) and then I had the wiring swappe...

Folks, Won this at the time bargain from ebay for my 86 325i engine. Mechanics gone to fit it and he said its for a 4 cylinder! Many thanks for that Sutbee. I don't particulalry want to get rid of it as I agree with the benefits of extra cooling, except I have it in an E21 and also have AC fitted. There's only room for one thing. I'm never going to take it on a track, so it will hopefully never reach any ciritical temperatur...

Electric mirror wiring loom help
Hello all, Does any know of any difference between a Series 1 (pre facelift) electric mirror wiring loom and that of a series 2? I have a bit of a unique problem in having an E21 with a 2.5 conversion. As well as motronic, I have had the complete series 1 E30 wiring passed over too. No real problems...

Spooks right. Plus it's actually an E21 I have with a lot of E30 gear in including the wiring. Doesn't look too bad I promise! Damilerman good idea about what do do with that hole now, thanks!

Ha ha thanks a lot guys. I don't actually have rear windows so will do without. Just thought it could cover the led hole in the centre console I bought off you daimler that time. Oh well

E30 Phase one wiring + help needed in the Manchester area?!
Bit of a unique problem. I have an E21 323i. Have had the engine from an 86 325i (phase 1) fitted in my car along with the complete wiring loom. Touch wood haven't suffered from any electrical gremlins, but really wanted to also take across the electric mirror loom, so that I can get my mirrors work...

Need to locate Cigarette Lighter Wiring Please!
Probably sounds a little odd, except I am dealing with a custom project where my E21 not only has the engine from an Phase 1 E30 325i but also its wiring and dash! Trying to create a custom centre console, but in the meantime need to locate and extend some wiring. Does anyone know what the wiring fo...

Re: Winding an E30 clock back?
Well I for one am very happy with this advice Willnz. I didn't mean to start a tit-for-tat, like I said it was merely for the sake of both clocks matching up. I would never clock this car (or any other car) but then I wouldn't sell it either after 8 years of ownership. Thanks again to all those who ...

Winding an E30 clock back?
Actually have a genuine reason. Existing clocks have died so bought a replacement from someone on the forum. Mileage shows 121K, just want to take it back to the original 93K that were on my old clocks.
Can this be done pretty easily?
Thanks!
