Re: Rear anti-roll bar drop links

Thanks all

Got it fitted in the end - I managed without moving the spring but it was tight. I used a large G clamp to exert pressure on the end and then gently wiggled the drop link using my other hand to work it down the bar.

Thanks everyone for their input.

Re: Rear anti-roll bar drop links

Thanks Gromgsxr, that will help. It's wired but the N/S took ages then suddenly went. Having got that side done I was hoping the O/S follow suit.

Did you just push them on by hand?

Rear anti-roll bar drop links

Is there a technique for fitting the drop links to the rear ARB? I'm having difficulty sliding the link on to the end of the ARB, ie the top of the drop link. I'm doing it in situ rather then removing the bar completely. The N/S took me a few hours but eventually went. The O/S rear is being a PITA. ...

Re: Bit of advice and thoughts please guys

The symptoms sound similar to my e39, and that was a starter issue, it tired to turn over but it did not have the guts to do so. For 3 days I could get it to start, I was sure it was a battery as the day before it became very slow to turn over then it wouldn't start at all. The battery was < 2 years...

Re: Selling advice

Thanks Daimlerman, I admit I'm in no hurry to part. Over the least 7 years I have used an e46 followed by two e39s as my daily drives. All this Time the e30 just been a bit of summer time fun. As I'm sure many on here agree, when well looked after an e30 provides real head turning 'retro' enjoyment,...

Re: Selling advice

For any one interested keep an eye out in the for sale section. I'll get her tax & tested first so may be a few weeks, plus I need to work out what to do with the spares.

I'm having real difficulty valuing it at the moment, been trying to find a comparison in the for sale section.

Re: Selling advice

Jim, are those lights angle eyes? They have a certian look to them! If you want to go back to OEM of have at least two pairs winkeye

On a serious note I got to say I think the e30 lights out perfom the ones on my e39. Often thought of doing a Xenon retro fit to the e39 as at tiem they are unsafe!

Selling advice

I think the time may have come. After 11 years of e30 ownership, admittedly a lot of these with the car SORN for 6 months of the year at a time in the garage! I think it is time for it to go as more recent years have seen very little use even when tax and tested. I just can't justify the ownership a...

Re: Bit of advice and thoughts please guys

multiple stops and starts, short ........... It tries to turn over but doensn't seem to be able to revolve the engine. I'm wondering starter motor, you say you have rocked it, but have you tried a full blown bump start? Batteries can die very quickly, especially this time if year. Did it get LNG to...

It may be an earth problem. I think the lights that work are on a slight different circuit to the rest. I have had the varaible reistor in the rotating head light on/off brightness control go open circuit before. You can test this if you to take the buld out of the rear ashtray, then put the earth (...

Thanks BMW_E30vert! - Did you do it without draining the oil? I assume you can as it only leaks under pressure (ie with the engine running) so I expect it is above the oil level in the sump?
