Wrong !

What's the difference between the B3 2.7 and the C2 2.7? nothing, if anything we got the better deal as we had non cat engines which made a bit more power. The real reason is the german customers felt the C designation was inferior to the B, they changed the C2's to B3's when the E30 was facelifted...

I was thinking of removing it because didn't bother much about retrofitting it to r134, but I may as well keep it and convert it !

Keep up the good job Simon, nearly there !

Re: Suggesitons for ICE that looks "right" in an M

Alpine CDR-120rm, Nakamichi CD400, or BMW/Blaupunkt CD43 with Dice or Grom USB adapter ???

I will replace my horrible pioneer with the CD43 and i have the Grom interface for USB/Ipod, that will look really at home in the B3 !

Re: Found it !! Headunit that match E30 with all I need !

As i told before, my Pioneer is a pain in the a$$ to use as well, so it can't be worse. I've read the owner's manual and it seems quite easy. Anyway it is a new model so it may have been simplified ! And my wife don't care AT ALL about my cars. Well she loves the volvo Wagon because it is big, quiet...

Harry_p, thanks for your input. I had Alpine HU before in my previous cars and was not disapointed... I guess this very Alpine head unit will just look perfect in my Alpina, timeless design as you said, and probably much better sound quality than anything you could buy late eighties.... Hi TouringTash, It is used still, I go back to France 4 times a year, and it is being used the way it should on SW France countryside roads ! Re: Found it !! Headunit that match E30 with all I need !

Hi Kman, I am sure the Alpine Head unit will not be more complicate to set up than the Pioneer i have, which is pretty illogical too. As far as sound is concerned, most HU nowadays are using the same preamps inside, so I think it is more down to the installation, speaker quality etc etc. That will b...

Found it !! Headunit that match E30 with all I need !

Hi All, After long thinkings, debating, I found the Head unit that I will fit in my Alpina B3 ! I have long hesitated installing a CD43 ( later E36 HU ) but I will not. Mostly it will go for sale, togheter with the GROM USB/AUX/Ipod adapter that I bought together with the CD43. Both are like new in ...

Hi Chris, for the SUB, Alpine and Pioneer are making some powered subs, which are basically an amp and a SUB intagrated in one unit. Re: Best speakers for standard setup

That is true, I guess you need at least an mp that has double RMS power than your speaker RMS power. I.E if you have 2x30W rms rated speakers, get an Amp that has at least 2x50Wrms output. You amp will be able to drive your speakers properly, no underpower ( clipping --> damaing speakers ). Now yes ...

Re: Improving Touring sound

Koh,

thanks ! i knew that 50W x 4 is bollox. My Hu supplies actually 4x22W rms.
I am actually looking at an AMP for the front components now. Nothing fancy, just a small 2-channel amp of quality ( Alpine 2x50W rms ).
I will later put a sub after that if I need.

Thanks / Pierre

Re: Improving Touring sound

Thanks mate, Actually I didn't plan to wire an external amp. just using the HU amp. I don't listen to overly loud music. Hi all, I currently have the following head unit : http://www.pioneer.nl/uk/products/archive/DEH-2100UB/index.html It looks not too modern and its illumination matches well with the E30 dash lighting.
