Re: M5 F10 recall
The n42 and its buddy's are piles of crap but a lot of there trouble is down to the silly service interval and chain tensioner s , I have seen a few where the broken chain guides get sucked through the "Plastic" strainer and into the oil pump to be ground up and stick the oil pressure relief valve ....

S50 Bearing Sizes
I am rebuilding my friends S50b30 to go into his e30 325i sport , and I am looking for a chart with the bearing sizes that correspond with the different colours , The orginal bearings were only a little worn and the crank was just repolished so still just under 60mm the problem is the colour marks o...

Re: throttle bodies
They wot fit directly Heads are different , you would need to make up an adaptor plate to match bolt pattern and to space them out a bit . Not sure your ecu would like the Itbs with orginal map , . I looked at it as I have a spare set but didnt bother because I am going turbo , so not so much of an ...

Will megasquirt work for me ? M50 B30
It looks like i will finally get around to building my M50 B30, after some long delays. I have a non vanos M50b25 and S50b32 crank/rods/and pistons . so the plans is to rebore the m50 to take the s50 internals . I also have a set of s50 throttle bodys that I will be fitting . Has any one though of swapping a m57 diesel engine into the e30. I have had a the loan of a 530d for the last few days and love the torque its manual and its fast not fast for a diesel , proper fast , my friend has a 530i petrol and it seems slower than the diesel. I just think in the e30 it would b...

Did you get her running ?
As for the OBC I am not sure how to unlock the imobilzer on it As I dont have one
But I believe there is a code you enter into it ( like the old radio code )
Glad you are getting there , I thought you might have barbequed your ecu.

Re: M50 wiring question please help
There is a red wire that feeds all three relays that must be connected to premenant live , there is also a ground on the e36 loom that needs earthing , You need to check pin 7 on the body loom ( I think , ) there is a post about it here http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t...

Lhd S50 coolant pipe
I am sure that I saw someone on here fitting a S50 out of a lhd, and it had a nice steel pipe going around the back of the head to connect the expansion bottle , From what I can remember they werent sure there would be enought clearance in the e30 . I have done a few searches but cant find this arti...

Re: Fiiting E36 gearbox into E30
Why dont you just change the spigot bearing to a e36 one . I dont think you will find a gearbox mount to direct fit , but have seen a thread where some one used a e30 box on a m50 engine (same problem just opposite )and they made up a spacer to go under the rubber mounting of the gear box and bent t...

Hi, I am confused. No CSL has a MAF. They run the MS S54 with some extra software that works on a similar princpal to Alpha N. The E.Gas [fly by wire] is far more responsive on the CSL than a standard E46 M3 as the MS S54 ECU has less to do, as there is no MAF compensation calculations through the ...

Re: S50 with apexi neo ?
the maf is an excellent bit of kit and far more accurate for better running and mpg, and even power if mapped right.. Tbh, Alpha N is only any good on WOT.. If you are making a plenum, removed the guts of the maf and stick it in the opening to the plenum.. If you keep the I/D the same you won't nee...

Re: S50 with apexi neo ?
As far as I know the 3.0 liter S50 is running more or less Alpha-N anyway and companies like Evolve can remap it. The 3.2 is a different thing altogether. I wouldn't run a ITB engine with a MAP sensor, heared all sort of problems with this setup on S14 engines. It can be done, but why? The resons w...

S50 with apexi neo ?
I was just wondering have any of ye thought of using an apexi neo to do away with the maf and use a map sensor on a s50 , or even an m20 for that matter , although I reckon you would need to fit an extra throttle pot for the neo on a m20 as it only has a tps . Its just a though as I would love to ru...
