Re:
mini steels defo need spacers to fit the front, as i have some, need to grind the centers out slightly so get em to slot on. 12mm spacers make them the same offset as mims, which dont catch, could probably get away with less but I had 12mm ones handy.

Re: steering rack earth...?
There should be a cable strap from the engine block to the chassis leg. Connect a booster cable from the chassis / battery earth and clip the other end onto the engine block, if it then starts then you need a permanent earth strap added. that worked a treat! :D thanks a lot man, an I dont get why i...

Now ive just swapped to an e36 rack, and the car wont start again, so im assuming its the same thing, b...

might sound daft, but have you checked all the bolts are in on your driveshafts? if one of them comes out the metal thing that joins 2 holes swings about when driving making that sort of noise. (will probably make more sense if you look

Is there room to have custom downpipes that would sort these issues out with the steering rack or would putting the engine further back (more bulkhead bashing) solve this problem? I ask as I really need to have full steering but i will be doing the 3.5 swap myself soon.

Re: Diffs
s3.64 is an LSD mate yeah, as for fitting, it depend on what size diff is already on? If they are the same size casing (6 bolts on top / 4 bolts on top... should be 6 on a 2.5) then its a straight swap mate
