ARB Bracket question

The right front ARB bracket on the Touring has broken. Metal fatigue has taken it's toll - and it is only held on by the back bolt.

Are the brackets held on by just bolts into the subframe, or is it a nut and bolt affair? PITA to get on and off?

Brian,

Can see the damp stain running down from the bottom left of the vent. It may not be the only leak, but the most obvious at the moment.

So, once I've got it all off and cleaned up - any suggestions on what to seal it with on reassembly? Will most probably do both sides.

Thanks,

Scott

Help fixing water leak in boot

The hot weather has helped to dry out the right boot pocket of the tourer, so can now see where the water is getting in. It's weeping in around the oval vent that the sunroof drain plugs in to. What is the best way to seal this up? There is a fair amount of mouldy crud growing on it. It looks like t...

Any ideas on how to release a stuck folding seat? Left hand rear seat will not fold, when you press the lever down, you can hear the mechanism working, but the seat does not release.

Thanks,

Made a turn past GSF on the way home to pick up some vacuum and fuel hose for the car. All good, 5 mins down the road, the coolant light comes on. Pull in to the nearest garage - check plenty of water in the expansion tank, wiggle the connection, start the car again. No coolant light. Get home, deci...

Vacuum line split at Fuel pressure regulator

The vacuum line on my Fuel pressure regulator has split at the regulator end. It's bodged up with some tape at the moment, but obviously needs replacing.

Can I buy the pipe as a part (sorry realoem blocked at work)? Or will I need to make one?

Replacing rubber in steering coupling - how?

Hello, Steering on the touring is a bit floaty at times. Will be getting under the car at the weekend, but as a first point of call, the rubber "donut" in the steering coupling is knackered. There is play in the joint - can move it back and forth by hand. Have done a search on the forum and it appea...

Now that the radio has been stolen, there is a whole new world of mystery noises from the touring :) The rattle from the rear wheel has been sorted - was the cap on the BBS (cheers Chris-W), and am hunting down the others. Garage will say engine needs to be lifted out. The subframe is in the way of the sump. I did it myself - gasket is £6.95 from GSF. It is a finicky job to do without taking the engine out, took me an entire day to do. So three hours sounds reasonable. DIY Guide is at: http://www.bmwe30.net/cgi-bin/...

Must add.. Was quite impressed with the police - car was fingerprinted etc. Didn't really expect them to go to the trouble. The "CSI" that came out to fingerprint the car reckons that the best result is for them to cut themselves when breaking in, as it is difficult to get fingerprints off of cars. ...

Is it possible just to replace the individual light, or do you need to do the cluster?

Hello,

Hopefully going to tackle the sump gasket this weekend. Should the oil leak indeed turnout to be the rear crankshaft seal, is the flywheel going to have to come off in order for it to be replaced?

Thanks,
