Re: Having a clearout, lots of M20 and E30 stuff.

Dizzy cap and HT leads, complete with cylinder 6 sensor.
These were last used on an engine running LPG and 7 lbs of boost, so they should be pretty good! £40 posted.

Re: Having a clearout, lots of M20 and E30 stuff.

Built to a design by the legendary UweM3, OE front top mounts modified to be camber-adjustable. Used on my 325i track car for years, only replaced when I fitted pillow ball mounts to get even lower at the front. These give around 3 degrees of negative camber with coilovers, less with standard spring...

Having a clearout, lots of M20 and E30 stuff.

Since my E30 is probably the last I'll own, and is getting less and less standard, it's time to stop hoarding bits I'll never use. All prices include p&p except where indicated M20 standard 80A alternator. Good working order, recent new regulator/brush pack. Also comes with that specific shallow-hea...

Re: Parts needed

I very much doubt you'll be able to buy one of these used, but you should be able to order one from your local dealer.
Part number is 07 12 9 908 142 .
Failing that, it's a 70mm M8 stud, just buy some M8 threaded bar and cut it to length.

Re: Z4 Rack - 3.0 turn, fully manual rack - Fits and Works G

Got the bits for this a few weeks ago, not had time to have a proper look at fitting it. It doesn't help that I'm using a top-mount turbo, so the downpipe (2.5") is a tight squeeze past the steering linkage. Does the Z4 setup occupy the same space as OE or is it offset in some direction? I'll certai...

Here's how she's sitting now; the front can go down another 25mm, the rear another 50mm at least. I'll have to raise the splitter if I do, there's only 40mm under it at the moment. At Pembrey yesterday it was touching down regularly when 30mm high. http://ahymsa.co.uk/whitecar/down/sideview.jpg http...

Re: Going down...

There's 20mm between the rim and strut, so with a little more offset a 205 or 215 will fit, but 235 is a bit too much.
Most of the time I'll hopefully be using slicks, which in 15" are usually 19/57 and will give even more clearance - as well as lowering the car another few mm.

Getting the front of an e30 properly low isn't too hard, adjustable coilovers will do most of the work and flat top mounts will complete it (and get you some of your suspension travel back). The rear, however, is a different matter. Even with GAZ rear coilovers wound down as far as sensible, mine sa...

Yep, neither realoem nor bmwfans list springs for e38s. Re: Treating myself - E38 750iL

Had to happen sometime - it's broken a front spring. Not a hugely difficult thing to fix, especially as I already own "spring compressors of considerable force", but finding out which spring to buy is a bit of a pain. The answer apparently is in an adjunct to the ETK called the "spring table", which...

According to the OBC, my current average is 15.6. It's had a recurrent misfire for the last few months, came and went. I put it down to use patterns; 20 motorway miles to work Monday, 20 back Friday, almost nothing more. If it's this style we're talking about : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221016220552 they don't fit anything very well. Re: The lean, mean, green tracking machine lives!

I've been doing a little research into LPG and boost, and have discovered a few interesting things. Firstly, tuning for LPG requires throwing away almost everything I thought I knew about safe operation, particularly with a turbo. UK LPG is almost entirely Propane , with an octane rating of over 110...

Standard centre box, HUGE no-name stainless backbox with DTM-style upswept tips. 88dB tested @ Thruxton a few years ago. A tip - if you're just over, swap the coding plug in your instrument cluster for a 4-pot one; it'll display your revs x 1.5. A 4,000 rpm noise test conducted at 2,666 rpm might be...

Re: question about "wide" differential on a 320i

The standard diff on a 320 is the small case; either this or the medium case (188 as gromgsxr says) will fit without mods or changing other parts. The propshaft will have to be shortened, though.
The one that won't fit is the large case, found on bigger-engined 5- and 7- series.

The M20B20 was restricted as standard (something to do with new car duty); fitting a b25 throttle body releases a few ponies, one of speedtouch's chips will help further. Any more than this and you'll be better off spending your money on a B25 swap.
