Re: Water Leak. Help!
When I had this problem the water was coming in through the aerial seal . When I searched on here the seal around the rear lights came up as a possibility and also blocked sun roof drains IIRC .

Re: More overheating woes !
Not a whole lot anybody can do when the bloody sachs box has the wrong arrows on it !! I've checked it sober today and it does indicate to be stored flat - it does however have a small picture of the fan clutch in an upright position so it looks like the sticker has been on wrong all along . t...

Re: More overheating woes !
Yeah one from GSF and one from OTTO but both boxes had the arrows pointing as if the box should be stored flat !! so that's how I stored them . May go buy a third one so and make sure it's been stored correctly . Did a search earlier and I reckon March is correct in how they should be kept which mea...

Re: More overheating woes !
March109 Had 1st one posted - it arrived with arrows on the box but who knows if it travelled that way the whole time . Bought the second one personally from a different motorfactors - it was handed to me flat but this was the way the arrow pointed on the box . The previous sachs box had this arrow ...

More overheating woes !
Car had typical viscous symptoms two months ago so got a new fan clutch fitted with a new thermostat and a coolant flush - car came back from the garage airlocked  but once I'd bled it the following morning all overheating symptoms passed . Sitting in traffic last week and notice I'm heading fo...

Re: more overheating woes
March109 , Brian , Thanks very much for all your help , car was bled yesterday morning and 350 miles later is still going strong with a heater that's hot and an engine temp that sits below half way no matter what the conditions . Local garage have apologised profusely and offered a free service but ...

Re: more overheating woes
Brian ,
I will definitely be having words but I can't reach the garage until 9 . If I bleed the system as you suggest and all is well after a 20 minute spin around the block could I assume a lucky escape and at least attempt a journey ?

Re: more overheating woes
Brian ,
Heater has been working but not great , either very hot turned up full or tepid at virtually anything less which is why I changed the thermostat .
Had it on full for the drive home this evening (15 mins) and didn't notice any heat although the engine apparantely found the time to overheat !

Re: more overheating woes
The top rad hose was hot to the touch but I was able to wrap my hand around and keep it there so probably not "really bloody hot" it was dark and I'd a toddler chancing an escape to the main road so I didn't investigate further . I'm supposed to be on the road at 6 tomorrow for a 3 hour drive to a f...

Marlon , Similar happened me last year , overtakin a bus and the car just died . It would turn over with the key but wouldn't start . If ya listen under the rear seat ya should hear a whinning noise when ya turn the key if your mate aint hearin anything then I'd say you've a problem with the pump . ...

Town called Arklow in Ireland , bout 60 miles south of Dublin along the coast . E30's are gettin popular as hell over here last year or two but it's hard enough to find someone who knows their way round 'em unless you're in or around Dublin . Cheers ,
Thought as much but just had that done so though it could be something else , left that mechanic as I reckon he was takin the mickey , she OK to drive or should I park her up ? New to the E30 so I'm fairly clueless to be honest .
Am I right in thinking ya can upgrade to the E36 tensioner ?

First post here so HI to everyone , Got a problem with me aul 318is . Every time she starts up there's a horrible raspy sound from the engine .
