Re: Shiny stuff

I have made a number of what I call safety bonnet supports for friends with E30s and they have been well received, believe me you do not want a bonnet to come down on your head  . Parts and actions required. 1. Alloy strip, nuts and bolts, metal tube, plastic washer. 2. Shape top hook. 3. Make ...

Re: m20 starts then dies

You should have a reading from the CTS, I had a look in the American Bentley Manual and it shows test temperatures and resistance ohms for the blue sensor. -10 C 8200-10500, 20 C 2200-2700, 80 C 300-360. also something I noticed in the Manual was the metal/plastic 2 wire ICV with external adjusting ...

Re: m20 starts then dies

This sounds like the ECU needs to relearn the idle, on my car if I disconnect/reconnect the battery the idle will in be high then will try to stall. I will have to drive for about twenty miles then all is good, try to hold the throttle open for long enough to warm the engine. my car is a face lift m...

Just a bit of background I had the bonnet come down on my head putting me in hospital, so never trusted the gas strut even though they were genuine BMW parts. I will look into your suggestion Mart, maybe do a video on how to make them.

Re: m20 2k - 3k idle

When you open the throttle can you hear a click from the TPS, also check that the connections on ether side of the throttle body that the servo and idle valve pipes fit to have not come loose, as it sounds like an unmetered air issue have a look at the breather hose from the cam cover to throttle bo...

Was there a modification to the hollow centre bolt that holds the oil filter on facelift 325i engines, as the bolt I have from a pre facelift engine has a grove to take a square cut O ring and the replacement O ring from BMW is round.
