My top tip,  is to make sure that you take note of the temperatures you are working in. I foolishly cut the shape of the window in a warm kitchen on a hot summers day (a warm Scottish summers day ) and when it came to sewing it in, it had shrunk in more normal temperatures and it made the glueing and sewing job a lot harder.
