If so, you need to remove the power steering belt to get the new alternator belt on. So its wise to change both at the same time as you'll be removing both anyway.!

You can as far as I understand alter the idle mix (rich/lean) with the AFM hex screw. You do need an exhaust analyser however as an incorrect mix is bad for you engine and an MoT fail.

Are you sure no one hasn't already tampered with this screw?

I can't see that you will distroy a LSD in a hurry just with a standard M60/62 even if you drive the bastard like Colin McCray.
I haven't driven a standard 540 speed with no LSD though. But just remember the 540 is a bardge compared to a E30

I have an extremely rare, Highline M635 engine loom. This is a real rarity - an M88 loom with the round c101 body plug connector, but with the connectors for the speed and reference sensors and the csv. It will only fit straight into a Highline M635, but could be used for an M88 swap into something with the c101 connector - an E30 say? I know this was working fine and it's not required as the engine is going into an E28 M5. Â£100 or sensible offer.

to be fair, i purchased a mint calypso boot, elec wing mirrors, elec arial with loom, all posted and packed to me for the grand total of Â£38, which isnt all that bad IMO

I bit the bullet in the end and put 4 new tyres (Falken Ziex912) on the original wheels, that along with 4 wheel alignment and crossed my fingers they would balance ok. They did and these 2 jobs have solved all the remaining handling issues.

I can recommend the tyres too they perform very well I'd done some research and decided I wanted to try them, the loudest thing in the car is now the A/C blower! Still plenty of little jobs to keep me busy, but next up is new windscreen and a bit of paint! I promise I will take some pictures.

While I remember does anyone have a decent sport seat base foam? or a black passenger inner sill/door frame cover (inside the car)?

Car Won't Idle

i have a 316 with an 318 engine, it's the old dizzy and carb version and i'm having trouble getting it to idle

yesterday i replaced the dizzy, making sure i marked it all up and it was running fine, i then drove it to work this morning (30+ miles) and it was running absolutely fine but now for some reason it won't idle, i start the car up it revs up then cuts out

would this be down to timing or something else?

The needle can sometimes get a bit "sticky" and not move as freely as it should. Give the dash a few taps (not the plumbimg sort) to maybe jolt it.
